Is it possible to become sick through the stupidity of others? If that’s the case, then I must have a stomach flu. Why were fans and pro analysts alike around the league questioning Jay Cutlers toughness when there was no proof to do so? My sports senses are offended. 1) Buy a TV or a computer, because to make stupid comments like that, you obviously haven’t watched a Bears game all season. 2) Staple your mouth shut, your making everyone’s ears bleed around you and collectively making football America dumber with your nonsense. In case you missed it or havent heard by now, Jay Cutler left the NFC championship game on Sunday due to an mcl tear (which wasn’t reported due to the lack of professionalism by the FOX broadcast team). It left a lot of people confused and angry going into the 2nd half. The MCL tear was confirmed the next day after an MRI took place.
If you don’t like Jay Cutler because of his “body language” or he acts “cocky” that’s one thing. If you don’t like him because you believe he is over rated then that’s fine too. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Questioning his toughness and saying he flat out quit is makes you football stupid. Yeah, I said it.
If anything, Jay Cutler is one of the tougher quarterbacks in the entire NFL. This season alone he had a concussion (and missed only 1 game). He also has been sacked the most out of any quarterback this football season, a total of 52 times, that doesn’t even include the amount of times he has been hit while trying to make a play while hurried, or the sacks he received in the playoffs. He also runs with the ball often unafraid of making contact with anyone from the opposing team.
After that type of beating, it makes no sense for him to make it as far as the NFC championship game and act like “You know what? I just don’t feel like playing anymore” Wow...
I am no doctor. However, I do know that there are different degrees of MCL tearing, and all of them effect everyone differently. If you’re a quarterback playing pro football, and you tear the MCL on the leg that you use to plant before throwing; while trying to get away from 250+ lbs. of defensive backs trying to grind you into dust, its going to not only be bad for you, but for your entire team. Would it make you feel better if he was rolling around crying about it like drama queen Brett Favre?
Numerous people from the bears have been down right offended, defending their quarterback publicly, including Center Olin Kreutz, Linebacker Brian Urlacher, Tight End Greg Olsen, Wide Reciever Earl Bennet, head coach Lovie Smith, and the General Manager himself: Jerry Angelo. Now if that is not enough for you, during half time the medical staff told Cutler (after testing his knee) about the tear, and despite knowing that, went out for the first series anyway to try to play through it. He wouldn’t play for the rest of the game after that. So you cant even say he didn’t even make an attempt without sounding like an idiot.
Cutler really was hurt, you can not deny that now that there is proof. If you choose not to believe the truth, then I advise you, Darnell Dockett, Maurice Jones-Drew, Mark Schlereth, and Deion Sanders to do the following:
