I love flip flops.
As far as I'm concerned, they're the best thing since sliced bread. And let's be honest, sliced bread isn't all that great anyway. I mean, you can cut the loaf yourself at home -- so flip flops might even be better than the pre-packaged whole wheat in your refrigerator.
I even have a painting of several pairs of flip flops lined up in a row hanging in my apartment. I'd wear them every day if I could. Dresses too. In fact, I do wear a dress just about every day. I can count on two hands the number of times I've showed up to work in pants since I started at the paper last September.
But wearing a dress in the winter earns me some crazy looks. So I don't push it by sliding into a pair of toe-thongs. And that, my friends, is what I love about summer. Walkin' around in flip flops and dresses without getting the crazy eye from passersby. And while I love the snow of wintertime, the leaves of fall, and the warm air without the sunburn of spring, I think summer might just be my favorite season. Which season's your favorite?
