It has been a beautiful week here in Connecticut. And believe me,
I’ve been enjoying it. Last Friday my co-worker and I took a quick trip
out of the office for coffee. It’s about a five minute walk, and the sun
felt absolutely delicious. I know it sounds totally cliché, but I just
wanted to wrap myself up in the warm air. I wanted to nuzzle it. Yes.
Nuzzle it.
I’ve been enjoying the warm air about as often as I can. Over the weekend, my bestie and I went kayaking – we stayed mostly in the harbor instead of heading out to the Sound, since there’s a kayaker missing and all. And on Monday, I had the rare privilege of leaving work at about 6:30 p.m. – you know, when the sun’s still out. That doesn’t really happen for me very often, and I really took advantage of it.
I rolled the windows down in my car and took the long way
home, letting my arm hang out the window and my hair fly wherever it
wanted to.
I turned up my music, and before I knew it my arm was back inside the
car,
swinging, snapping and shaking as I rocked out to the radio. You know,
that
might just be my favorite thing about summertime: steering with my knees
as I
dance in my driver’s seat with the windows down.
And I thought it was a pretty standard way to celebrate the sun, but given the looks, comments and horn honks I received, I’m guessing that’s not entirely true. What about you guys? Do you rock out on the road?
